After publishing a first sustainability statement for the 2022 financial year in accordance with the standards of the German Sustainability Code (DNK) in June 2023, we have now also prepared a sustainability report in the form of a compact print version. It has been available since November 2023 and can also be viewed on our website (media library).

In it, we have documented all relevant information about our sustainability strategy and activities on a total of 64 pages and supplemented it with further insights and outlooks, interviews, stakeholder quotes, clear graphics, current images as well as interesting figures, data and facts.

"Since we have published a sustainability report for the first time in our company's history, we have decided to produce a lively print version in addition to the more formal DNK statement," says Sandra Burwinkel, Sustainability Officer at Burwinkel Kunststoffwerk GmbH. "With this colorful compact version, we explicitly want to address our key stakeholders such as our employees, customers, suppliers and partners from the region and engage in dialogue."

What specific goals we have set ourselves by determining our carbon footprint, what path we are taking to reduce our emissions and how we are taking our stakeholders along the way - all of this can be read in our sustainability report. And finally, an outlook: In a personal interview, our Managing Director Martin Burwinkel describes the opportunities and challenges that the path to transformation and greenhouse gas neutrality brings for the industry and our company.

Next sustainability report for the 2024 financial year

The concept and editorial team led by Sandra Burwinkel also included Barbara and Stefan Wagner from Mühlen (Wagner CSR - Office for Sustainability Management and Communication). The layout was in the hands of Carola Welter (WelterWerk from Lohne). Our employee Jörg Wieland and the photographer Timo Lutz contributed a large part of the images. The climate-neutral printing through CO2 compensation and on recycled paper was carried out by Rießelmann Druck & Medien GmbH (Brigitte kleine Stüve).

The publication of the next sustainability report is planned for the 2024 financial year.
